October 1, 2026 · 3 min read

Once you have measured a PDF you often need to keep or share the result: send a marked-up proof to a printer, a client or a colleague. In PdfRuler you can save a copy of the PDF with your measurements drawn right on the page.

How to save a measured PDF

  1. Open your PDF and place your points and, if you want, drag out ruler guides.
  2. Click the save icon (the download arrow) in the toolbar, next to the eraser, or press Ctrl + S (Cmd + S on a Mac). A blue check confirms it worked.
  3. Your browser downloads yourfile-pdfruler.com.pdf to your computer.

What is included

These are drawn as sharp vector graphics and text, so they stay crisp when you zoom into the saved file. The measurements go on the page you are currently viewing; the rest of the document is kept as it was.

Private by design

The marked-up copy is built in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded, and the original file is not changed.
